Gulbarga became the fourth city in the state to have Prepaid Auto service system at railway station , Gulbarga
The facility was inaugurated near the autorickshaw stand outside the railway station by Inspector-General of Police Gagandeep and Superintendent of Police Praveen Madhukar Pawar.
As per the prepaid service, passengers are given receipts for auto fare, which is fixed depending on the distance.
For example, a ride from the station to the central bus-stand will cost Rs. 16, to Nehru Gunj bus-stand Rs. 40, and to the University Guest House Rs. 64.
Complaints of harassment or overcharging by autorickshaw drivers can registered with the police on the following mobile numbers: 94808-03554/ 94808-03555/ 94808-03620.

It will help only those passengers who come at odd hours at Gulbarga Railway station. I am afraid even those alighting from trains at regular time will not use this facility! Because, we, in gulbarga, would like to share the auto with other passengers, just to reduce our share of the total fare! May we first develop the habit of travelling in auto all alone throught our destination!
