Poignant moments marked Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa’s visit to an organic farmer’s house at Melkunda (B) village in Gulbarga taluk on Saturday(25-06-2011).

“It feels like my son is visiting us,” remarked Jagadevi M. Kallur as the Chief Minister stepped into the veranda of the four-room house adjacent to 40 acres owned by her husband, Malliknath Sharanappa Kallur.

Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa had lunch (Rotti-Pundipallya) with Malliknath Sharanappa Kallur, organic farmer, and Jagadevi M. Kallur at Melkunda (B) village.

Farmers’ hour.!

Responding to farmers, Yeddyurappa described as ‘wonderful concept’, the suggestion made by a farmer that the first official hour of every day should be observed as farmers’ hour and should be devoted for agriculture matters and issues. “Wherever I go, I will definitely follow the suggestion by dedicating the first official hour of the day to the farmers’ cause’’, Yeddyurappa declared.
