Regional Commissioner Rajneesh Goel has said that days are nor far off for Gulbarga becoming an electronic city on the lines of State capital Bangalore as the city has every potential and possibility of transforming itself in to an information technology hub.

Speaking at the one-day conference of investors in the field of information technology industry organised jointly by the Karnataka State Electronics, Development Corporation (KEONICS) and Hyderabad Karnataka Development Board here on Saturday, Mr Goel said that the IT Park being established in Gulbarga will become an entity of international standard and it will herald a revolutionary era in the software technology of the region. The investors meet is being organised in the light of the first phase of the three phase IT Park getting ready by the end of this calender year. It is coming opposite High Court Circuit Bench on the Gulbarga-Afzalpur sector of the ring road on an area of 1.72 acre.

HKDB Secretary Shalini Rajneesh said the speed with which the KEONICS was setting up the IT Park was admirable and asked it to clear the IT proposals in the same speed. She said that the entrepreneurs of the region were participating in the investors conference a three month free training and counselingin technology an dfinancial issues will be given to them by the Gulbarga Regional Centre of the Visvesvaraya Technological University. Moreover the accommodation at the IT Park will be given to the local entrepreneurs at reduced rates.
