Introduction:.
History of India is scattered and difficult to shaped and narrated in an important fact. However emerges from this strange contrast “of Hyderabad Karnataka history under the despotic role of the Nizam. The people were subject to all sorts of restrictions. The civil liberty were totally denied, there was neither freedom of speech nor freedom of association nor freedom of press were leading a precarious life with so many handicaps in economic, religious, educational, cultural and even in social fields. Naturally there was a growing discontent in the minds of the people who wanted to assert themselves for their own rights.
The people of Gulbarga struggled hard for freedom their aim was to fight against the feudal autocratic rule of the Nizam. The Nizam and his associates tried their best to rule the state neglecting the wishes of people, India had got freedom on 15th August, 1947, did not fully solve the problem of integration of all native .states. This could not be achieved as per the Indian independence Act of 1947. The uniting of all native states into sovereign republic of India was done by S.V. Patel almost all native states merged into Indian union but Nizam of Hyderabad states Maharaj of Kashmir’ and Junaghad wish to remain independent the people of Gulbarga again under the clutches of Nizam rule. This dynasty continued to exercise over the region. Mir Usman Ali Khan was the last Nizam his region struggled for freedom movement began in Gulbarga. The impact of national movement had spread over Gulbarga but Hyderabad Karnataka did not get freedom, mean time entire nation had got freedom from British in 1947 but people of Hyderabad Karnataka region were under the clutches of despotic rule of Nizam of Hyderabad.

The rise of Mobilized and political development started with nationalism the Arya Samaj movement and Hyderabad Karnataka State Congress and Educational institutions played vital role awakening people for freedom struggle.

Hi Admin, In above comment i mentioned that this article is for page traffic, I apologies if it is not true. Its a great info to whom don’t know about history, and you are doing great job. But users comment’s anything. We know that we Indians know only to blame each others, Why don’t you publish only good comments? It should first go to you, not directly publish on site.

The matter is not at all related with two religions.Hyderabad provience was not ready to merge with Indian Union and therfore suitable action was taken by the government to maintain unity of the country. The matter has been settled long back. We brothers and sisters of both community should not bother about such old, settled issues and waste time.Gulbarga is ours.HK is ours.Let us move together to make our area developed and vibrant to match with rest of the world.

Guys, I totally agree with Syed, as we all know there will be always blood shed when boundaries of nation are being drawn, and there will be always far and against for these boundaries. We should not indulge in any religious sentiments. We cannot tell all muslims were in favour of Nizam nor the Hindus. There will be some elements in both religion favouring Nizams. We all need to understand that We are Indians and being Indian we accept the fact that India is above all religions. My grandfather being a congress leader tried hard to save lives of both Hindus and muslims in Our village when riots broke out near Mahagoan. He made people to stay in sheds. Remember one thing whenever boundaries are being drawn there will be always blood sheed, we cannot argue who is right or wrong, just accept the decision that happens. And I am proud to be in HK region more than that much more proud to be INDIAN!! Jai Hind

Peace… Not wanting to discuss or debate further. I would like to have a last word to Shiv. The quote that I have quoted above in fact been repeated many times in history and The Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi was not the first person to use it. If you travel around Hyderabad and talk with some old persons who have directly or indirectly had connections with the ruler will quote a hundred quotes by the said Nizam. And if I misquote the father of the Nation, I believe it will not amount to disrespect. If you feel I have disrespected him, then I am pretty sorry.

Everyone, please understand that this post by the author is about Gulbarga and the struggle for freedom of Hyderabad Karnataka region. The facts provided by the author are true. Nizam and his army, that is, Razakars treated the people of this region like slaves. They killied innocent people, many of the basic rights of the people were denied. To know all these facts, read the book “Hyderabad Mukti Sangharsha” written by Sri. Gopalrao Hejeeb. Be it Hindu or Muslim, everyone should condemn the barbaric act of Nizam and his army (Razakars). Also, it is very important for everyone to know their History, so that the same mistakes are not done again.
Special request to everyone, please do not use public forums like this to promote any religion/caste. Every religion talks about same values and principles, its just the interpreters who mislead people.

Dear brother’s Imran and shiv, don’t go on the things that what peoples of that time has done in the past, if anybody has hurt someone then don’t just relate this things with any religion because their cause will be counted by the Allah even if he is Nizam our any other man belonging to any religion so we just don’t have to worry about that , because we know very well that, it is not in any religion that one should get joy for his family by hurting some other family, If anybody thinking that in Muslim religion, it is there one of their objective to hurt some other religion culture then I definitely has to say that you have not understand what Islam is, If person says that he/she is Muslim, do things which are avoided by the Islam then he/she is out of Islam circle, he or she is just have name of Muslim and nothing else , if u want 2 understand what’s the teaching of Islam just refer Khorana and Sahi Hadees, so just don’t go on what people do rather refer to the guide that teach u about that religion.

I highly appreciate for posting a brief about Hyderabad Karnataka Mukti Sangarsha. I totally agree that during those days the civil liberty were totally denied. Like many others, My Grandparents (Late) Mr. Shivasharanappa Karjagi (freedom fighter in this movement)and Mrs.Gourabai Karjagi and were also Archakas of Shri Amba Bhavani Temple (Shahabazar, Gulbarga) faced lots of troubles from the Nizam ruler. Ringing bells, blowing Shankham (diving shell), chanting vedic mantras were almost stopped by Nizams force. The History also says that Nizam stopped all Kannada education institutions. There were incidences were Razaakars tried to enter their own mosque in disguise of a bramin to create communal riots and disturbances. With due respect, I would like to say it to Mr, Imaran ji that the words “the religions Hinduism and Islam are like my……” were not of Usman Alik Khan. The fact is that, these words were of by Gandhiji. This mistake is a disrespect to the father of nation. Pl dont change history as u like.. Read this well researched book written by Gopalrao Hejib on Hyderabad Mukti Sangarsha..

Hi, it feels good to know that some one is writing about our city and on the same makes me sad because the author is ill informed about the facts. And the writer is clearly being biased as we can see in the article above. The author could have mentioned a lot of things but he keeps on repeating that the Muslim ruler was ill treating Hindus and the “Razakar’s” were killing them. I must say the facts are not truly correct. The author speaks of Mir Usman Ali Khan as he was a cruel ruler, this again is incorrect. In fact Mir Usman Ali Khan once popularly said that “the religions Hinduism and Islam are like my two eyes. If one gets hurt the other too cries”. If he hated Hindus then he would not have said these words. I request the webmaster of this site to find correct Historical facts and then publish rather than just doing copy paste from other ill written sources. Also you could meet the “Hyderabad Karnataka Vimochana Smithi” for more detailed and accurate information.
